Description
Please read the entire description before purchasing. Thank you for your interest in this item. This is a used Paxcam 4U3 microscope camera with high speed USB3 A to micro B cord included. Paxcam currently sells this model new for 3,500. This one came in as a package deal with one of the microscopes that I have for sale here on Ebay.
Here is the deal with paxcam, if you don't know. They are designed to run on Pax-it microscope imaging software, but will run on any imaging software that supports Twain interface. Having said that, the Pax-it software is not free to download, and in order to use this camera, you need 1. The pax-it software, 2. The Twain interface file, available to you with the Pax-it software, or 3. Simply use the driver and run it with any camera app that supports direct-show cameras, but with very limited functionality. So, I have the driver, and can provide it for you with the purchase of this camera, but I found the direct-show camera use to be beyond my I.T. skill level, and so for testing purposes, I was only able to install the driver, verify that the light on top was green and not yellow when I connected the camera to my computer after installing the driver, and verify in device manager that the computer recognized the camera as the 4U3, and that the computer said the device was working properly. I think it's extremely unlikely that this camera doesn't work, but in order to capture an image with it, I would have to purchase the software. Here is the price breakdown on purchasing the software:
The camera new is 3,500, which includes Pax-it and file access for one computer.
If you purchase this used from me, you'll have to pay an additional 300 for that software and file access, per the Paxcam sales rep I spoke with, but still come in well below half the cost of new.
I cannot just buy the software access to try this out fully and then include that access with the sale because it isn't transferrable from one computer to another after being installed, just like a Microsoft Windows access key for one machine, but I have no reason at all to think this camera won't function as it should. It was on a very expensive Nikon and shows no visible signs of damage other than slight cosmetic damage to one of the Paxcam stickers on one side. But again, I have not been able to fully test it and so you have to buy with that in mind. Thank you.
